sketches

I've been sketching cities and streets since I was very little. One might call it, politely, an inclination, or, more accurately, an obsession. I love discovering and documenting everything I can about cities and architecture, and I love exploring urban spaces, their long histories, their idiosyncrasies, their buildings and their cultures, and sharing them with others.

The sketches you see here are all made within the space of an hour or two, on site. I think of a sketch as "reading" a building. When I trace a building's details, I learn something from it. It makes me a better architect and urbanist. I hope you enjoy viewing my "reading exercises!"

These sketches are now for sale!
